We’ve made a small change to our review pages which we hope clears up confusion on when our reviews took place. Often, we “bump the date” of our reviews to keep them from becoming stale. Unfortunately, that also makes it appear as if the review was just conducted.
Some of our reviews on here were conducted even before the site was online! We think our readers deserve to know that.
On every review page, you’ll now see a date when the review was initially conducted, as well as other information on updates to the review all the way at the top. We have gotten several requests over the years for this, and think it’s a great idea. If you have any other questions or comments about our reviews, please don’t be afraid to ask!
Hold on, how is is possible some of these reviews were written before The Weather Station Experts existed (February 2021)?
While we’ve only been a website for a little over three years, we’ve been reviewing weather stations hands on since 2015! Some of our oldest reviews predate the site by about a half decade. However, if you want an example of how good Davis weather stations are, go take a look at the date on the Vantage Vue review. You aren’t going to get a long-term review like that on any other weather station review site! 🙂

an trust our reviews
At The Weather Station Experts, we aim to provide honest, accurate, and helpful information to weather enthusiasts, homeowners, and anyone looking to better understand the weather. We take pride in our editorial independence and commitment to earning your trust.
How we test
A weather station or gadget must score highly in our scoring metrics in several key areas, including accuracy, value, durability, ease of use, and feature set. We only recommend products we genuinely believe are worth your time and money. In most cases, we test and review weather stations and gear ourselves. If we haven't tested something personally, we rely on a combination of verified user feedback, manufacturer specs, and expert insights to make our recommendations.
