We wanted to post a quick update regarding some website issues that affected our site beginning late last week. Over the weekend of February 16-18, if you visited our site you may have either had difficulties loading the site, or pages may have loaded incorrectly.
What first appeared to be a serious DDoS attack was badly written code, along with some bugs on our end.
We have discovered that two plugins we use were causing our server to freeze. While one of the plugins was only viewable from the backend, the second plugin is the one we use to translate the site. The former plugin seems to be the root cause, but our translation plugin is a bit more problematic.
Deactivating this plugin would also remove our translations, so thatโs not an option. We are currently working with the developer to isolate the issue, but in the meantime, our translated pages may only be partially translated. We hope to have the issue with translations fixed by this weekend.
We apologize for the issues. In fixing it, weโve also been able to speed up the rest of the site, so itโs not all bad news. You might also have noticed some of our pages look different: in our testing to find out the problem, we made some changes to pages to make them much faster on mobile.
Please let us know if you see anything out of whack!
