Ha! Well, I agree with you, getting the funnel lined up with the inner tube can be a real pain too, it always moves right before I have everything perfect! 🙂 Will have to let Stratus know.

I am 82 years old and have nothing better to do then make some suggestion to improve wonderful gadgets. A month ago I bought the Stratus Rain Gauge and I love it.
Since I think there could be always some improvements I have the following recommendation.

The inner cylinder should be attached by a screw thread to the top funnel. With this modification it would be possible to remove the inner cylinder and funnel as one piece. Also in the case of more than 1″ of rain the additional water can be poured easily into the top funnel. To clean the inner cylinder you just have to unscrew it.
